The Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek, also known as the Dhaulagiri Round Trek, is one of the classic expedition-style treks in the Himalayas. The trek circumvents the world’s seventh-highest peak, Dhaulagiri, standing at 8167 meters. It presents a challenging journey in the western part of Nepal, offering a full adventure and an off-the-beaten-path experience. Most of the trekking route of the Dhaulagiri circuit is located in remote areas, far removed from modern infrastructure, which is precisely why many adventurers undertake this trek.

The Dhaulagiri circuit trek route traverses serene, isolated regions replete with natural beauty, crossing highlands and high passes. The route boasts multiple astonishing viewpoints providing close-up views of majestic mountains. Along the trekking route, constant mountain views accompany trekkers as they pass through remote villages and astonishing landscapes, including several high passes, dense forests, and Himalayan glaciers.

In addition, trekking to Dhaulagiri typically follows both tea house and camping style. We provide healthy and hygienic meals. Depending on the walking pace and trekking experience of trekkers, we remain flexible to adjust the itinerary at any time. However, our standard trip spans 17-19 days. The journey start from Pokhara, which is a 40-minute scenic flight from Kathmandu, followed by an off-road drive to Darbang on the subsequent day. The actual trekking on foot begins from Darbang, passing through dense green forests. The forest are home of hundreds of rare animals. During the trek, trekkers may encounter some rare wildlife, including the red panda, Himalayan goat, and deer.

Before embarking on the trek, our expedition instructors and trekking guides thoroughly check the trekking gear and equipment. Proper trekking gear is essential for a successful and meaningful trekking experience in the Himalayas. Our guides brief trekkers about the route, trip package, and necessary information in Kathmandu. Throughout the trek, the trekking instructor provides a briefing about the next day’s program, checks the pulse of each member. Spring and autumn seasons are the most preferred times for this trek.
